Continued from the last post on Davos I will be sharing some more facts, links and views of some famous bloggers.
Some facts
This years Annual meeting was held from 23rd to 27th Jan 2008.
Tag line for this year’s meeting: “The power of collaborative innovation” (We have been talking about these two words separately ….suddenly somebody put them together and we get one more interesting word … “collaborative innovation” whatever that means
)
Agenda: What is the meeting about?
You can in any case click on above link to read more … what i want to highlight is that meeting was based on five conceptual pillars (fundamentals) and one of the pillar was competing while collaborating and one of the highlighted point that makes it possible is web2.0 technologies:
“The way we work is becoming more self-organized, open and at times disruptive with the introduction of Web 2.0 technologies and new collaborative platforms.”
Are we saying that coopetition is the way forward for the world?
They talk of new collaborative platforms at this point it makes complete sense to reintroduce Avanoo for it consists of new collaborative platform that lets connections and conversations happen in completely fresh way. Secondly its a forum that is already trying to answer Davos question of making world a better place (as is reflected in Avanoo Tag line “A better world”)
is a forum at Annual meeting, which is open to general public and two questions which I would highlight are
Virtual worlds – Fiction or reality? Since long have been searching answer to this question of balance between real and virtual life …. why do we need virtual life at all (why am i making this post at 2 am in morning?) Balance in future will not be work life balance but virtual real life balance. (Have yet to read the responses at Forum, lets see if they have some satisfactory answer). Till date i have only liked this explanation given by wilford in one one our discussions on Avanoo:
——-
We need second world (www) coz laws of physical world make it impossible for minds and hearts to connect …
——-
however again how much meaningful all this is when we get back to our real lives?
Will end this post with following interesting commentaries on Davos:
Infosys Blogs from Davos 2008: Nandan Nilekani (Infosys co chairman) and other Infosys top leaders writing from Davos 2008.
Forum is over … they were trying to find ways to make world a better place … this year we were also involved in sharing our views …. They came, they discussed, they argued, collaborative platform of youtube made it possible for you and me to talk about it. We blogged, twittered, flickered, tagged and youtubed Davos event … perfect ecosystem of web2.0 was used.
What next? Annual meeting closes with call for a new kind of collaborative leadership
Now who are these collaborative leaders? Leaders 2.0 or suddenly we have found out a better replacement for 2.0 and instead of every word followed by 2.0 it will now be prefixed with collaborative!! Like any web2.0 startup its all so chaotic yet interesting
[...] In next post i will be sharing some more interesting links, important views of some famous bloggers from some of the best IT companies. Till then you can listen to Indra Nooryi’s (Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo) response to Davos Question [...]
