Google Deskbar

July 18, 2004

Google want you to stick to it, you already have google Toolbar which sits below the addressbar in web browser and let you search without opening Google hompage. Fair enough, but why should you need to shoot up browser to search, you are working on MS word and dont wish to leave it and dont even want to take your hands off the keyboard, Difficult … Nay … all you need is Google Deskbar. Google Deskbar still in Beta Version is an easy to install application which sits in the taskbar and let you search with google from any application without lifiting your fingers off the keyboard and let you search even when the browser is not running, preview the search results in small inset window that closes automatically once you go back to your original application. Just press Alt+Ctrl+G to access it from any application.!! simple enough Install and check out its features Here and if you dont have the toolbar, get it from Here
Now and then google is coming up with really useful application, what I am looking for is when will all these applications be working in tandem that is to say toolbar or deskbar having buttons for accessing gmail directly. Google also have other personalized and social networking services, what a good idea it is to club them togehter into one single dashboard kind application to have single sign on access to all of them….
