Browswer for web 2.0 : Simply Amazing

August 16, 2006

Do we need a new browser ….If for you browser is something to view websites and checking mails then probably you might not need one. However, if you are an active blogger, manage social bookmarks avid fan of Flickr and love reading news online the RSS way; I insist that you need to try Flock.
This open source browser is being advertised as social browser (The web browser for you and your friends) specially meant for web2.0 Its advanced drag and drop features to drag drop text and images to tray at the bottom of browser and later drag and drop to the editor for use (I dragged and dropped above image using same and composing this post from flock blog editor ) and WYSIWG and advanced search tool bar sets it apart from other kids round the corner.
It is built on Mozilla Firefox core and incorporates core features of Firefox, however I find it much more elegant, classy and cute than Firefox. Its news reader is what i liked most. I don’t think I will switch back to Firefox for reading news and blogging. Flock’s interface is quiet clutter free, smooth and catches your attention. A word on search tool bar, is necessary because history search is the amazing feature: you could find pages already visited by searching on a term that appeared on the page.
To sum up, as Flock is browser for browsing, for sharing and for finding out. Flock lets you:

  • upload, share, and comment photos
  • stay up-to-date with news from your favorite sites
  • search the web (results are delivered right below the search box, as you type)

Here goes my first post from Flock!!

p.s. oops !! i could not post it from this tool !! it could not connect to my blogger account I will have to post the usual way till flock people reply to my query However, It won’t dampen my enthusiasm coz its still in the beta stage and these little bugs are no bugs they are potential features !!
