Brilliant, Independent and 007

January 17, 2007

Its been a long time since my last post. This post is sepcial in following ways:

  1. First post of the year 007
  2. It is bang on time, after full one month( last post was on 17th Dec)
  3. This post talks about Brilliance and the Independent Music.

Let me talk a bit about these points. what do you have to say about 1 and 2. Is it a conincidence or done “purposely” ? To some extent its not a conincidence, offlate I have been giving some serious thoughts to give a makeover to blog. In lingo i was thinking of giving Mission Vision statement or to sound different and careative i wish to have Mantra for my blog. Now, what do i mean by that, frankly speaking i myself dont know, however it sounds great and something that is to be done to take this blog to next level. When people dont know what idea, thoughts exactly i am selling how will they buy … as my friend rightly puts it: “Jo Dikhta hai woh bikta hai” ( that which can be seen, can only be sold). This place needs little management and regularity. This brings me to the point of posting after one month.

for i feel frequency can either be daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly…. Here i need help of all those who read this post and are loyal readers of this blog. Please spare a moment and comment on the fact that how often will you like to read my blog?

Without further talk I will come to the point 3. Will like to share these two innovative websites i came across today:

1. The Brilliance: I liked this news blog for its simplicity and clutter free feel. Read about the guys here and also check out images of the culture at Brilliance here

2. INDISTR: This is a model which music industry and other big daddies of web space will like to closely watch in days to come. indistir.JPGFor the success or failure of this site will define the future of distribution of music. As of now its in beta stage and is a model which takes artists directly to the public. As the site puts it that THIS IS INDEPENDENT MUSIC. which throws music labels out of distribution channel. Lets keep our fingers crossed and see if the model

is able to sustain on its own or get acquired by some Big dady in Media and web space.

On practical note although i am talking fundas in point 1 and 2 .. its time before something concrete happens, like all other good – to – do – things, this will also take more – than – enough time to implement.

By the way 007 is our very new bond year 2007 ( Thanks to Suranjan Sir for this)
