Wisdom of communities

August 31, 2007

This post is important for two reasons:

1. It is linked to the last post in which i was pondering if people will be relying on consultants for decision making or their decision making will be result of what others are talking about on web? Or we will find some serious attempt where consultants are all available online as a community? It is yet to be explored, however i came across this wonderful venture called avanoo. in the words of founders (Dan and Wilford) :

Avanoo is a community of people who care about issues ranging from politics to dating, and who feel that local knowledge and perspectives will guide us to global solutions.

Read complete Wisdom of Communities Manifesto.

Okay you will not find it different, its yet another community where people come and scream and talk about topics which don’t make sense to you either because you are not passionate about that topic or it is irrelevant to your geography or society in real life. Yet i liked it for it was well written concise and powerful.

I came to know about Avanoo from wordpress’s Hawt Post, which was from Avanoo’s Blog. This post was an invitation to join Avanoo to get into relationship with Avanoo and build the network or community. This was one of the finest and interesting piece of invitation i have ever read. After this, I spent quiet a time reading this blog and it is after ages that i would have spent some considerable time on a single blog, each and every post is marvelous blend of words. Simple yet so effective and so true that one can easily relate to it. I highly recommend to spend some time reading meditations on meaning.

2. Reason No. 2 is that if you have cared to reach so far and read some of the posts from Avanoo’s blog, then one thing i can confidently say is that consultants cannot ignore this competition from wisdom of communities.
